Gank for Rank was formed in August of 2007 by Nekronn and Archeron. Myself and Nekronn had been with many guild’s through our progression to 70, and there after. There was so much drama in all the guild’s we tried, and we decided enough was enough.

Players:
GFR has many types of players. Heavy raid, casual raid, strict pvp and casual pvp. Whatever you want to do in WoW, you can do it here. If you want to play once a week and play some Battleground’s, by all means. If you want a spot in Karazhan and play frequently, that is also available.

A laid back policy is what we strive for. So far so good, and we’d like to keep it that way!

Recruitment:
Our recruitment is always open for players over level 60. So feel free to apply! Those of you who are already members and have friends that want to join, the level cap does not apply.

We also welcome all your alts!

Raids:
GFR does NOT and will never use the DKP system. This system has a major, major flaw. If say, you join the guild and we have a mage who has been raiding for 1 year. He probably will have 10,000+ DKP unless he messed up. Now, you join the guild and do a run with us. Say a piece drops that you want, and he wants. He wins because he can spend 10,000+ DKP points on the gear, while you have none. We believe this to be an unfair system. If you take the time to attune and key your character, you have the same rights as any other person in that instance.

Leadership / Loot Order:
Now, we do have class leaders. For example, I (Archeron) is the mage class leader. This does not mean I pull rank on rolls. This means I organize and maintain all the mages. If you have a problem, you can also come to me.
